Transport for London TfL

Website: http://www.tfl.gov.uk

TfL was created specifically to bring together the organisations with responsibility for the Capital's transport under the guidance and charge of the elected Mayor. TfL look after the majority of the Capital's transport and they are charged with delivering the Mayor's transport strategy. TfL currently manages London buses, the Docklands Light Railway, and a network of major roads, although the London Boroughs remain responsible for 95% of the smaller roads in the Capital. It regulates taxis, runs London River Services and helps co-ordinate the Dial-a-Ride and Taxicard schemes for door-to-door services for transport users with mobility problems.

Responsibility for the London Undetground was transferred to Transport for London in July 2003.
