URBAN II
The European Union has devised four special programmes, which are
known as Community Initiatives. The URBAN II Programme is a Community
Initiative designed to support innovative strategies to regenerate
cities and declining urban areas. It is financed by the European
Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Programme runs from 2000-2006.
The URBAN II programmes are geographically specific. The programme
for London covers parts of two wards in the London Borough of Lambeth,
Stockwell and Larkhall. The Programme was approved in December 2001
by the European Commission.
