London Objective 2 (2000-2006) Postcode Checker

The Postcode Checker allows you to check which locations are eligible to receive funding from the Objective 2 programme 2000-2006. Note that the Objective 2 area is based on 1998 ward boundaries, which may differ from current boundaries.

There are two options for using the Postcode checker. You can either search using a single postcode or you can request a list of all eligible postcodes.

1. Search using a single postcode

Please note that you need to enter the full postcode e.g. SW1P 4RR. Partial postcodes (e.g. SW1P) are not recognised.

Postcode:

2. List all eligible postcodes

You can view in which boroughs and wards eligible postcodes fall, and whether they are in:

  • the whole of the Objective 2 area, or
  • the Objective 2 and Community Economic Development (CED) area (this applies for Priority 1 funded projects), or
  • one of the four Transitional Wards (Springfield in Hackney, Central and Manor Park in Newham, and Higham Hill in Waltham Forest).

To get the best results, select the borough, then tick either the Objective 2, CED or Trans boxes. For CED postcodes also tick the Objective 2 box. Then click GO.

The extracted data will then be displayed on an Excel spreadsheet. 'True' indicates the postcode is eligible for Objective funding; 'False' indicates the postcode is ineligible.
