New Director for Crime Reduction and Drugs Division
Roger King, the new Director of the Crime and Drugs Division, took up his post on the 1st March.
Roger has a wide range of experience, joining the Government Office for London after being the Chief Executive of Connexions London West. His previous roles include Managing Director for the Youth Justice Board and Chief Probation Officer in North Yorkshire.
Roger said:
"I thoroughly enjoyed setting up the Connexions Service in West London, building a new organisation which joins the public, private and voluntary sectors in partnership for young people across 6 boroughs.
"Now I look forward to being the Crime Director at the Government Office for London. The role brings me back to my roots in the criminal justice system. I have worked at every level in the probation service and have always taken a particular interest in youth crime, crime reduction and partnership working."
He continued:
"I have sat on Crime and Disorder Reduction partnerships and Drug Action Teams and it is good to see how the work in this area has developed over the last few years. I now have the chance to make an impact upon these issues again, but this time across London. I am fortunate to inherit an experienced team and a legacy of proactive and effective work."
